Easy walks can be found at French Beach Provincial Park, Gordon's Beach, Muir Creek, China Beach, Mystic Beach, Galloping Goose Trail , Whiffin Spit, Sooke Potholes, and our Ed MacGregor Harbour Park.
For the more serious hiker, the area offers the new Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, world famous West Coast Trail and many "local secret" spots.
A hour's drive to Port Renfrew will afford you the opportunity to view the tidal pools at Botanical Beach and Avatar Grove, home of Canada's gnarliest tree.

Sooke offers a museum/info centre, historical sites, live performance theatre, pubs, cafes, bakeries, restaurants ("even sushi and Thai!"), shopping, studios and galleries, annual fine art show as well as year-round events. During your stay, take in many of our popular local award-winning breweries.
